Timely Testing has teamed up with MDX Ventures to provide an option during Nevada’s time of need. The option is Quiksal, a revolutionary new lab-based oral rinse test. Quiksal is 99.999% accurate and completely noninvasive. There is no uncomfortable swab rudely jammed into one’s nose to collect specimens. Instead, the person being tested simply pours a .07 ounce oral rinse into their mouth, swishes for 60 seconds, then returns it to the container. Nothing could be easier.
COVID-19 does not appear to be going away any time soon. While clinics around the world struggle to find a vaccine, Americans continue to get infected every day at an alarming rate. As of October 16, 2020, the CDC lists 7,958,254 total cases-to-date in the US and 216,917 deaths. Globally the number of cases-to-date skyrockets to 39,456,909.
The highly contagious virus has a nasty habit of mutating as certain strains attempt to circumvent our current defenses against it. This claim was backed by a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases virologist, who suggested the virus specifically reacts to human countermeasures against it. Meanwhile, a 25-year old Nevada resident recently became the first person in North America found to have gotten COVID-19 twice, throwing into question the notion that survivors become “immune.” Researchers concluded that the man had contracted a “genetically distinct virus,” meaning a mutated version of the virus he’d contracted previously.
Every day, all too many people walk around with mild symptoms, inadvertently infecting others simply because they “assume” they don’t have COVID-19 and don’t want to bother getting tested, or don’t know where to go for testing. Reluctance to test is also a sign of fear of the results since a positive test would mean, at a minimum, that the individual would need to start quarantine protocols. For some, this can mean not working or seeing their loved ones for a time. Many asymptomatic persons don’t want to face that reality, so they choose to forego testing.
Meanwhile, others suffer from severe symptoms, but experience difficulty getting tested when they know they need to. Nevada health officials are doing what they can to ensure people who require a test can complete one. Still, many test sites are overwhelmed, and some may want a referral order from a primary care doctor, adding to the hassle and delays.
Even after testing is done, many laboratories have backlogs and aren’t getting results back to those anxiously waiting in a timely manner. For individuals at high risk, such delays can become a matter of life and death. These individuals include older persons, those with problems with their lungs, heart, liver, or kidneys, those with obesity, and people with diabetes, cancer, or immunity disorders, among other health issues.
Quiksal is a FDA EUA approved Lucid Diagnostics product specifically developed and manufactured in the U.S.A. Quiksal utilizes a nuclear acid/RT-PCR testing process; the preferred testing method according to the Infectious Diseases Society of America due to its sensitivity and specificity. Simply put, the test captures the presence of COVID-19. The oral rinse is food grade, meaning it’s perfectly safe if swallowed (though it is not intended to be). Containing active ingredients that stimulate salivary glands, Quiksal produces seven times the sample size of a standard saliva swab test, helping boost the accuracy of results.
Routine testing isn’t always a pleasurable experience, but now there’s no need to to send your employees elsewhere for COVID-19 testing. Timely Testing comes to you! We offer the 60-second, noninvasive Quiksal oral rinse test at your place of employment or at Timely Testing locations conveniently located in Reno and Las Vegas. For everyone’s protection, laboratory assistants will perform the testing in the parking lot with your employee comfortably seated in their vehicle. This process is to minimize the spread of the virus, if present.
The test is 100% billed to insurance. A $25 collection fee does apply. Employees can pre-register for the test, using a simple mobile app, or the laboratory assistant can assist with registering at the time of testing. Test results are typically available within 24-48 hours and accessible directly from the laboratory.
There is no need for a doctor’s referral, no swab rammed into the nose, and no delays for results. We’ve eliminated the barriers to getting tested…and limited the inconvenience of testing.
The CDC offers helpful information to assist people in determining if they need a COVID-19 test. Somewhat funnily, they suggest that “people who have symptoms of COVID-19” should get tested, which seems fairly obvious. Symptoms can include but are not limited to fevers, coughing, sore throat, loss of smell, and difficulty breathing.
However, as mentioned, many people are asymptomatic or experience only very mild symptoms. As an employer, protecting your workplace from widespread infection is paramount. In such cases, things to consider include exposure to potential risks. If an employee has tested positive for, or been in contact with someone with COVID-19, put your mind at ease and implement testing for all employees potentially exposed. Why delay when you can find out right away?
